June 11th, 2008: Lee MacFarlane is proud to be nominated by the Membership of the CHBA, Treasurer of the Board. This is the first time since the organizations' inception (1940) where a professional without accounting accreditation or ties to a banking company has been nominated for Treasurer.

November 30th, 2007: Lee MacFarlane is proud to be appointed by the Membership of the CHBA, 2 year term director.

November 30th, 2006: Lee MacFarlane is proud to be appointed by the President of CHBA, Chairman of the Education and Training Board of the CHBA-Victoria.

Owner Lee MacFarlane is excited to be inducted as a CHBA member and looks forward to helping the industry in reaching it's goals of a green and healthy society and to promote reliable business practices.

Electrical Contracting

Lee MacFarlane started in the electrical field when he was a young pup out of high school in 1992 and has continually evolved his expertise from residential housing in the British Properties in North Vancouver, to commercial schools on Salt Spring Island, to BC Hydro Power Smart initiatives, to whatever need arises. Lee has never accept a job he could not handle efficiently. He has strived to be a good/honest person, recycle everything (Pacific Mobile Depot), and keep his current employee's employed, happy and healthy.

AV can stand for many things but mainly it comes from a town called Auroville, India. Their mandate is to be a universal town where men and women of all countries are able to live in peace and progressive harmony above all creeds, all politics and all nationalities. The purpose of Auroville is to realize human unity and a green society. This fits into our view of the world of business that we want to project in the coming years.

(Important note) We do not have any official connection to the city of Auroville, we just respect the way they conduct their lives. We do though, view it as our role to learn from their teachings and as people on this earth, project goodwill to all. *AV Energy Ltd. is an honorary member and has donated money to projects in Auroville

To further our goals we have been trained in renewable energy and with the LEED standards of the Canada Green Building Council. Our services encompass electrical, renewable energy, communications, computer, and audio.

We try to set the tone of how work should be presented, with a general estimate and a hand shake. Current clients know that we work hard and charge our low rate to provide services above many that are charging more. And with our allies in various business services, we have been able to sub-contract more effectively than standard contractors because of our intimate knowledge of specialized fields.

Working hard and efficiently is what we do best. If there is a problem that has arisen because of improper installation, we will fix it, no charge. We will always clean up after ourselves unless other arrangements have been made. Our word assures quality and service.

Future projects still encompass resorts and community services in Port Renfrew, a large floating resort project in Gold River, and many other residential and commercial projects for various contractors and owners throughout Victoria. We are currently working on a 'Project Page' to be posted soon which includes our work on beautiful homes, commercial buildings, resorts and pubs.

AV Energy's focus for the coming years is to grow and solidify existing relationships, to become more involved in the CHBA-Victoria and Victoria Chamber of Commerce, and to let the enormous word of mouth spread. Strangely we have not advertised in a phone book (although we are listed). In not advertising, AV Energy grows, gains loyal customers, yet remains at the grass roots level. Which means we will rely on karma to earn a living. And reciprocal trust.
